Drift is a digital platform that facilitates meaningful connections through anonymous and semi-anonymous letter exchanges.
Core Features:
- Creating and sending "bottles" (messages) into a digital ocean
- AI-powered matching with other users' bottles based on emotional resonance
- Reading matched bottles with AI-generated connection insights
- Sending one-time "echoes" (replies) to matched bottles
- Optional anonymity controls
4. Account Registration
4.1 Account Creation
To use the Service, you must:
- Register with a valid email address
- Verify your email through our verification system
- Choose a display name and avatar
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
5. User Content
5.1 Content Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you create ("User Content"), including bottles, echoes, and profile information. By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Display your content to matched users
- Store and process your content for service operation
- Share echoes with intended recipients
5.3 Anonymity and Identity
Drift offers two identity modes:
- Anonymous Mode: Content is attributed to "Soul #[Number]" with a generic avatar
- Named Mode: Content is attributed to your chosen display name and avatar
You are responsible for the content you share in either mode. Anonymity does not excuse violations of these Terms or applicable laws.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to use the Service to:
6.1 Illegal Activities
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Engage in fraud, phishing, or other deceptive practices
- Promote or facilitate illegal acts
6.2 Harmful Content
- Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or promotes violence
- Share sexually explicit or pornographic content
- Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Engage in harassment, bullying, or stalking
6.3 Impersonation and Deception
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Create fake accounts or false identities
- Misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization
6.4 Spam and Abuse
- Send unsolicited commercial content
- Flood the service with repetitive or meaningless content
- Use automated means to access the Service without authorization
6.5 Privacy Violations
- Share personal information of others without consent
- Attempt to de-anonymize other users
- Collect user data through unauthorized means
6.6 AI and Technical Manipulation
- Attempt to manipulate the AI matching algorithm through artificial means
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the AI model or matching logic
7. Content Moderation
We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to:
- Review, monitor, or remove content that violates these Terms
- Suspend or terminate accounts engaged in prohibited conduct
- Use automated and manual tools for content moderation
8. AI Matching and Limitations
The AI matching system provides suggestions based on content analysis. Matches are algorithmic and do not guarantee emotional compatibility or safety. AI matching may occasionally produce unexpected or inaccurate results.
9. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, logos, trademarks, and AI systems, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
- Use our trademarks without written permission
- Reverse engineer or decompile the app
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Implied warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of AI matching
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
- Damages arising from user content or conduct
- Damages arising from AI matching results
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Drift Team from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or binding arbitration.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted in the app and on our website. Your continued use constitutes acceptance.
15. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, illegal conduct, or extended inactivity.
